You should be wise in choosing a college course. you should take into consideration a lot of things before going for it. First and foremost, you have to really be interested with what you will be doing almost like passion. It must utilize your skills and potentials. It must be something that can compensate the work that you will be doing. You also have to look for current market trends and job trends. It will be a good source of information on how the job market is going to look like in the near future. What types of jobs will be virtually obsolete and which ones are going to be the most in demand. And one most likely to top the list in say, 10 years fast forward, is the Physician’s Assistant. This is so because more and more Americans will seek medical attention and treatment more it does now. It is beginning to put a major stress point in the doctors’ offices because the demand is rising while the number of qualified applicants are experiencing shortage. The supply and demand is unbalanced. And doctors and future doctors are looking for other medical fields to pursue due to the fact that malpractice insurance rates are soaring higher every year. To be able to pursue this, you need to finish a physician assistant degree or volunteer in medical assistance programs.

There are various medical careers that are in demand now a day due to many people getting sick because of the pollutions, harmful element, and disease. Common to it are nurse, medical transcriptionist, caregiver, dental aid, assistant doctors and etc. but I want to focus on caregiver because I know a lot of friends who are now caregiver. I also know a lot of care giving schools that produce quality caregiver. but again care giving is not a joke or not easy because as caregiver you are task to take care of the patient by feeding them, giving them their medicine on time, giving bath to them, changing their clothes and etc. and most of the patient are senior citizen (those who acts like children again), others are angry or depressed adults that will not follow you. And in relation to this I will suggest you watch “Caregiver” a Filipino film by Sharon Cuneta that show the life of a Caregiver abroad.

6.jpgThere are great opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry. There will be a popular demand of pharmacists in relation to the increase in the percentage of the senior population connected also with the increase in the uses of medicines. In recent studies for the next ten years, job openings will be available to Indian pharmacists globally because there will be shortage of professionally qualified pharmacists in the international market. One career option in the Pharmaceutical industry is community pharmacy that ranges from ownership of a pharmacy, employment in a pharmacy and management of local or national pharmacy. Fortunately there are other more opportunities and options for a license pharmacist.

5.jpgDiagnostic medical sonographers are also referred to as ultrasonographers. During a scan, the sonographers are the ones who view the screens and look for restrained visual indication of disparity between healthy and the unhealthy areas. Then they will decide if the images are suitable and they will choose which image should be given to the doctor for diagnostic purposes. Their job also includes analyzing results in the initial reports for doctors, so that they are obliged to get measurements to calculate values. There is no licensure in diagnostic medical sonography but certain organizations like the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) make the certification of sonographers through registration.

4.jpgBala S. Manian never went back to India after he left to attend graduate school in the United States. He has then started putting up medical technology companies in Silicon Valley since 1979. But recently Dr. Manian has rediscovered India again. His latest company called ReaMetrix which is still located in Silicon Valley has 20 of its 28 employees based in India. It is favorable to him in the sense that the cost of labor in India is much lower. This trend of exporting jobs to countries like India and China shows that it is not just limited to manufacturing, back office works and computer programming but can be applicable also to the medical and drug industries dominated by corporate America.

3.jpgThe trend today is that nurses tend to merge what they learned in Western allopathic medical care with alternative care. This alternative care may be yoga, different types of massage, nutritional therapy among others. The alternative care is fast becoming popular and the irony is that the consumers do not mind shouldering the expenses when their health insurance fails to cover the said service. It is but ideal for nurses to be providers of these alternative care since they have enough education relative to the alternative care and they have better judgment as to the safety of combining Western medicine and alternative care.

2.jpgBecause of the growth trend of the aging population there has been a simultaneous increase in the demand of products and services related to the older population. Two of the many areas that benefit from this trend are the home health care and the nursing homes. Because of this, healthcare is projected to be among the top job that will be in demand in the years to come. There may be breakthroughs in the medical technologies that will come out, but there will always be the need for healthcare services. There will be a problem only if and when politicians will lessen the licensing requirements of medical professionals which may affect the quality of trained people in the industry.
